In a historic move that aligns with global standards and enhances student flexibility, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has officially announced that the CA Final Examinations will now be held three times a year starting from 2025.
Until now, the CA Final exams were conducted twice a year — in May and November. However, from 2025 onward, ICAI will conduct the exams three times a year, specifically in the months of:
January
May
September
This new cycle will apply to the CA Final level and is expected to benefit thousands of students by providing more exam opportunities and reducing the overall wait time for attempts.
Students will no longer need to wait 6 months for the next attempt. If you miss one cycle, the next is just around the corner.
With more exam windows, you can clear your exams faster and enter the workforce or move to CA membership earlier.
This change brings ICAI in line with international accounting bodies that offer more frequent exam cycles, making the Indian CA qualification more dynamic and globally competitive.
According to ICAI's official release:
"The CA Final Examination shall now be conducted thrice a year in the months of January, May, and September to provide greater flexibility and better time management for students."
